The much memorable jubilee year celebrations reached its pinnacle in a deeply memorable two-day event held on the 25th and 26th of February 2025, marking the high point and conclusion of a yearlong journey of thanksgiving, renewal, and mission. Gracing the final celebration was His Grace Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait, whose presence added solemnity and significance to the occasion. The event also witnessed the participation of several key leaders from the global Jesus Youth movement, including Dr. Midhun Paul (JY International Coordinator), Mr. Santosh Mathew (JY International Animator), Mr. Raiju Varghese (Senior Jesus Youth Leader), and numerous clergy from across Kuwait.
With over600 participantsfrom various age groups in attendance, the atmosphere was vibrant and filled with the spirit of Jubilee, as the community came together to celebrate a historic milestone under the powerful theme“Thy Will Be Done.”This theme guided the entire Jubilee year, rooted in four key aspects:Recollect, Reconnect, Reconcile, and Rejuvenate – each representing a dimension of personal and communal renewal.
Day 1 was centered around the youth empowerment and vision-castingfor the next generation Jesus Youth in Kuwait and the role of Jesus Youth in today’s world. A symbolic and deeply moving moment during the day was thepassing of a lighted candle – from His Grace Archbishop Nugent to a teenager – via the hands of theJY Kuwait Chaplain, theNational Coordinator, and aJY youth member. This act represented the passing on of the movement’s light, mission, and legacy to the younger generation.
Day 2 featured powerful sessions, thought-provoking visuals, and vibrant cultural performances, all reaffirming the call to be faithful witnesses of Christ in today’s world. Participants, grouped by their years of involvement, engaged in meaningful reflection on their personal call as Jesus Youth, fostering mentorship and shared wisdom across generations. A symbolic reinforced stage was unveiled, marking a renewed foundation for Jesus Youth Kuwait to “Begin Again” with a bold vision for the next 25 years – celebrating the past while stepping courageously into the future as Ambassadors of Christ.
The celebration concluded with adeep time of worship, and praying in unison:“Thy Will Be Done.”
