From April 9–12, 2025, over 400 sixth-grade students attended "SIXERR," a four-day residential program organized by the Jesus Youth Kerala Kids Ministry at the Divine Retreat Center, Murigoor English Campus, Thrissur, Kerala. The event was inaugurated with blessings from His Excellency Bishop Alex Vadakumthala of Kannur, Ecclesiastical Advisor for Jesus Youth India, and graced by His Excellency Bishop Pauly Kanookadan, whose presence and words offered great spiritual encouragement to the young participants.
SIXERR was a vibrant and creative experience, featuring musicals, action songs, games, thematic stalls, inspiring sessions, testimonies, and theatre performances — including skits, dramas, and a touching "Saints Walk" that deeply moved the children. Spiritually enriching, the program drew participants closer to Christ through Holy Mass, Adoration, Confession, and heartfelt spiritual sharing, forming the core of SIXERR and fostering deep personal encounters with Jesus.
The event was supported by over 150 dedicated volunteers, including 10 families, with some joining at different stages. On the final day, a special session for parents gathered over 30 attendees, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the spiritual formation their children received.
The impact of the programme was clear through heartfelt feedback of a parent, “it was a graceful experience for Joan. She encountered Jesus during adoration, had a beautiful confession, and returned home with peace and joy.” Another noted, “My son’s experience of shared dwelling and dining with new friends in Christ at such a young age was a valuable life lesson.” The spirit of joy and excitement remains with the children even after the event.
Looking ahead, the ministry will offer a free one-year subscription to Kairos Buds magazine and enhance engagement through zonal follow-up initiatives. The Jesus Youth Kerala Kids Ministry extends sincere thanks to the sponsors, parents, volunteers, and the entire Jesus Youth family for making SIXERR a radiant success – a true celebration of faith, friendship, and God’s enduring love.
